Our son, Arif Hidayat Lai was born on 3rd December 2010.
It was a huge surprise as he was expected to arrive on 3rd January 2011.
The day before he arrived, my wife was at the hospital for her regular checkup.
This was the only day I did not accompany her as I was supposedly too busy with work.
So there I was putting on my socks and about to leave for work when I receive a text from my wife...

"I've dilated by 3cm...going into labor..."
IMAGINE MY PANIC AND EXCITEMENT.
Her overnight bag was not packed.
We had not gone for our antenatal class.
There were so many more things to buy.
And worst of all....my wife was there alone!!!
Nevertheless, he was a blessing and we couldn't be happier.
It's almost 3 months now since he was born.
And today will be the first of many blogs to come about having a new addition to the family and living with a baby.
I hope when I'm old and he's about to have a child, that I'll still have this blog to share with him.
